Sarah Alston Bio
Hi! I'm Sarah Alston and I’m currently studying biochemistry at UNB Fredericton, with the hopes of continuing on to study medicine after my undergraduate degree.
I recently transferred from McGill University, where I studied Management for two years. During my time at McGill, I was on the executive of the Desautels Business Conference on Sustainability, and the MUS Sustainability Network. I also did volunteer work with the McGill Childcare Centre, and in NB with the Nature Trust of New Brunswick.
More recently, I spent three weeks in rural Uganda living amongst and learning from the locals. Our volunteer group spent time teaching English classes, photography classes, and visiting neighbouring village schools.
Travelling is one of my greatest passions in life; I love immersing myself in new cultures and learning different ways of life. My current interests include: science, sustainability, hiking, the farm-to-table movement, and I love to cook. My younger years also included a mix of musicals, singing competitions, basketball and volleyball.
I am very excited to be a part of the Student Ambassador Program and to work with and learn from fellow ambassadors who are just as passionate and driven to make change as I am.
